Celebrating Earth Week and Earth Day, Environmental Club is hosting a scavenger hunt today. The event is taking place within the quad, with groups and individuals searching for prizes. “Last year, we came up with the idea of a scavenger hunt because the Environmental 101 teacher made digital escape rooms for her students in her class. The hidden caches we have are stickers, bracelets, stamps, and little trinkets that revolve around Earth Day in the shape of trees,” Ruiz said.

It’s been going pretty fast and really efficiently,” StuCo member Mya Brown said.

The current scarcity of qualified teachers has posed a significant challenge to secure the necessary replacements. “There's a pretty high demand [for substitutes] right now in the valley. I enjoy it very much because it gives me a lot of working opportunities,” substitute teacher Dylan Drachler said. “When administrators contact me it has been a little more fast paced, saying they need help that day, but I try to look a few days out in advance and get jobs that way.”

Combating student email access lockouts, password retrievals are happening in the library during English or Freshman Studies/Health classes. A week has passed since the initial lockout occurred. “We’re doing that [library retrievals] for two reasons,” Assistant Principal Donna Besser said. “One is to make sure that we are using a different system to log everyone in. Also, to ensure that everybody is getting reset. Right now some students that have been reset are saying that they weren’t reset so that they don’t have to do work in class. This is ensuring that everyone is being reset and no one has any excuse to not be logged in.”
