Taking inspiration from Hawaiian, Filipino and classic American dishes, Babystacks Cafe offers a large array of diverse breakfast items. Their goal is to create delicious meals whilst still keeping their customers in mind.

Because of the ongoing pandemic, my friend and I decided to sit outside since it was less crowded, and they had plenty of seating to choose from. Our server was respectful of social distancing and made sure we understood the vast menu that they offered. Our meals arrived surprisingly quickly with how busy it was and just looking at the menu, you could tell they are known for their pancakes with the 21 different options.

The first dish I tried was the short stack of the Banana Pancakes ($7.50 full, $4.75 short). They came with chopped bananas and powdered sugar on top. I soon realized that there were bananas actually inside of the pancake batter which was a pleasant taste. The pancakes were fluffy and sweet, but the sugar wasn’t overpowering. Overall, the pancakes were delicious, but not unique.

My friend decided to order the Loco Moco ($8.95). He had never tried it before so it was a new experience for him. It came with a burger patty over rice, along with two eggs on top, all covered with savory gravy and a side of potatoes. The beef patty was seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the eggs contributed to the dish by adding a tasty moisture in my mouth. The potatoes were seasoned well, but like the first dish, not very unique.

The last item I tried was the Honey French Toast ($8.50), and it was by far the best french toast I have had in a long time. The french toast came with an airy, soft whipped cream with cinnamon dusted on top. The honey was mixed with the melted whipped cream, which left a delicious aftertaste in my mouth.  The honey was so prominent and flavorful that I didn’t even feel the need to use the maple syrup that came with the dish. Out of all of the items ordered, this was personally the best.

All-around, Babystacks Cafes’ friendly service, plentiful seating, great breakfast standards and delicious food made for an amazing experience that surpassed my expectations. The prices were justified by how large the portions were, as well as the great quality of the food. This cafe would be perfect for breakfast with friends or family and I will definitely be returning to Babystacks Cafe again.
