The scanner is an extra way to ensure attendance is accurate for the day. “It's a school policy for the students to wear their ID, so it's one way of encouraging students to wear them,” Thomann said. “It [also] backs up my attendance. If I scan them, I can double check later. It's state law that we keep good attendance.
