As we enter February, stores have started to sell and bake valentines themed treats. Whether you like chocolate covered strawberries or heart shaped cookies, The Southwest Shadow would like to hear what your favorite Valentine’s sweet is and why.

My favorite Valentines day treat is raspberry, chocolate macaroons in the shape of a heart. I make them every year for Valentines day and always give them out to my friends. Such a SWEET tradition! YUM!!

I believe the best Valentines day sweet is a simple batch of chocolates. They are a simple, yet sincere treat that almost anyone can enjoy and most certainly be happy to get. I myself always liked these kinds of chocolates, not only because i’m just someone who enjoys chocolates, but also the variety left me guessing exactly what I would be met with when eating each one.

My favorite Valentine’s day sweets are chocolate covered strawberries. These are my favorite because they have a unique balance of texture and flavor. You have the crunchy, rich chocolate shell over the juicy, flavorful strawberry. I love when Valentine’s day comes around and you see all of the decorated chocolate covered strawberries on the shelves. They resemble the love and joy that this holiday brings.

My favorite Valentine’s Day sweet is an assortment of chocolates wrapped in a heart-shaped box. This love developed in my youth when my mom would buy this for me, and we would share the box, trying all the different flavors. We blindly try every flavor, laughing at the bad ones and smiling at our favorites. The fun part is finding out which ones we love together. This tradition makes the treat go beyond candy; it allows me to feel closer to my loved ones with this shared experience and nostalgic treat.

My favorite Valentine’s sweet is a red velvet flavored cookie. Firstly, the rich red color really just embodies the Valentine’s spirit. I love chewy cookies, and with cream cheese frosting on top, it tastes so sweet, just like Valentine’s Day. When I think of Valentine’s Day, I think of the delicious red velvet cookies that I eat every year, a tradition that has been carried down for generations in my family, a secret family recipe. The same cookie I enjoy every year has been enjoyed by many before me. Red velvet flavored cookies are representative of Valentine’s Day and bring sweet and delightful memories, and taste good.

My favorite Valentine’s sweet are Sweethearts. They are candy hearts with messages on them, and they come in different colors and flavors. Although each brand is different, the main flavors are blue raspberry, cherry, grape, orange, lemon lime, or wintergreen. They usually come in big boxes or multiple mini boxes, so you can share with your friends if you want to.

My favorite Valentine’s sweet treat is Fun Dip because you can’t go wrong with it. There are a multitude of flavors that make it so everyone can find a flavor they like. It also brings me memories of elementary school, so I think the nostalgia plays a big part in why I like it too.
