The heat is slowly rising, we’re putting our winter clothes away and bringing out our summer outfits. It’s the perfect time to venture outside without it being too hot and visit national parks, the beach, etc. With that being said, the Southwest Shadow would like to know your favorite outdoor spot to visit.

My favorite outdoor spot is the beach. I especially love Coronado Beach located in San Diego, California. This is my favorite place to visit because I love the ocean and the waves, as well as all the shells that wash up on shore. I’ve had a lot of luck with shells there and have even found quite a few sand dollars on the shore.

Being around my friends is one of the few things that make me happy. Town square is a great place to meet up with them as it’s relatively close to all of my friends.

My favorite outdoor place is either the soccer field or the park because it’s just a fun place to chill out with some friends or at night lay down on the grass and watch the stars and it brings me so much piece to just breathe and take a small 15-20 min break outside away from home.

My favorite Vegas summer spot is Lake Mead. During summer, me and my family go almost every weekend, and usually invite friends to come along. My favorite water activities are riding jet skis and wakeboarding. Over the years, I have been able to experience progress with my wakeboarding; at first, I could barely stay above the water long enough to board, but now, I am pretty good at it and I enjoy helping my friends learn.

There’s a park that’s 5 minutes within walking distance of where I live. It’s got a large grass area that dogs and whatnot can play in as well as being a great place for a picnic. When sitting pretty much anywhere you can see how large the area is as well as the playground, bathroom, and tennis courts that are nearby (only less than a minute away, most likely much less). There’s also a sidewalk that you can walk through with a few benches spread throughout. Overall, it’s a simple but great place for kids, adults and seniors.

St.George, Utah is always my family’s favorite spot! Its so nice the vibe is just great and the weather never fails to be nice warm also it happens to be very grassy and quaint. Perfect for some sort of spring outing. Not to mention the lovely car ride and the great view that comes with said car ride, its only a two hour ride that doesn’t seem long enough if you have a great playlist. Highly recommend

As a Pokémon GO player, it’s no surprise that my favorite outdoor spot is a park with a lot of Pokéstops. Goett Family Park is just that for me. The walking trail is serene and peaceful, and not to mention full of Pokéstops. I have fond memories of this park, and not just because of Pokémon GO.

Living in Vegas there aren’t many fun places to go to like the beach, but I continue to enjoy the outdoors by heading up to Mt.Charleston during the warmer months with my family and dogs and going on a nice hike and picnic near Lee Canyon!
