Drama Club, Every Tuesday
Adviser: Maritza De La Fuente
Room: C124
Drama Club will continue rehearsing their play, and members will help create sets.
“For our next meeting, our actors are going to be reading over the scripts and practicing memorization,” Club President Dylan Grove said. “We’ll also start working on other aspects, like props and costumes, and start going over ideas for each character and what they’ll need in each scene.”
As castings for the play are finalized, the club will now focus on developing performances and strengthening the production.
“We selected the cast by putting them through a round of interviews,” Grove said. “Our advisers were overseeing the whole process, so we had to perform a monologue for them, and they would cast us in whatever role they saw fit.”
Sports Club, Second, Third and Fourth Thursdays
Adviser: Corina Almodovar
Room: Gym
Sports Club will meet in the gym and play volleyball. All students are welcome to join after paying the club fees at the school banker.
“The next meeting will be a normal day where our members will be able to run games,” Media Manager Joy Park said. “Like most meetings, our members spend most of the time competing with each other, playing games or just practicing in between matches.”
Members are encouraged to come and participate to gain experience competing against other players and improve their skills.
“I think the club is a good way of getting people into the sport,” Park said. “There aren’t too many opportunities to really play volleyball with a lot of people, so I think that having something like this available at our school can inspire a lot of people to start playing more.”
Filipino Club, First and Third Tuesdays
Adviser: Randy Suba
Room: D102
Filipino Club will introduce new activities centered around Filipino culture.
“Next meeting we’ll be doing bingo icebreakers and implementing Filipino words with them,” Historian Jarred Garcia said. “We’ll also have snacks and go over housekeeping information, as well as informing members about the tinikling interest form for Coyote Coachella.”
The club plans to attend the event, hoping the performance can help showcase true Filipino culture.
“It’s something new we want to implement towards Filipino Club,” Garcia said. “Tinikling is a traditional dance, and we felt like our members would be more immersed in the Filipino culture if we teach them how to do it, and we incorporated their performance into school events like Coyote Coachella, and more events.”
